Evelyn Sharma recently posted a photo of herself breastfeeding her baby Ava Bhindi on Instagram. She was relentlessly trolled for sharing the photo, and she has finally retaliated.
Many people wrote things like “Ye bhi koi dikhane ki cheez hai?” (Is this something to show?)
“What about your baby’s privacy?”, “Feed your child in private,” and other comments in the same sentiment.
Sharing the breastfeeding photo to Instagram, Evelyn Sharma had captioned it, “When you thought you finally established a routine and then she starts #clusterfeeding!! #smileforthecamera #thingsnoonewarnsyouabout #mummylife.”
In a recent interview, Evelyn Sharma stated that she wishes to share her experience as a new mother with her friends and followers. She also stated that she prefers to make her social media profiles personal rather than professional. Sharma later explained that photographs like this reflect “vulnerability and strength at the same time.”
Evelyn mentioned in an interview with Hindustan Times, “Such images show vulnerability and strength at the same time. I find it beautiful. Breastfeeding is one of the most natural and healthy things to do. And it really is why women have breasts in the first place. So why be shy about it?”
“Breastfeeding is much tougher than people think. When you start out as a new mum, it is often physically and mentally exhausting, particularly cluster feeds. I shared my story to let mums out there know that they aren’t alone in this.” she added.
