On the 22nd of January, India witnessed a historic event as Prime Minister Narendra Modi consecrated the Ram Lalla idol at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. This moment witnessed the presence of prominent figures from various industries, captivating the attention of billions who tuned in to watch the proceedings. Among those participating in the Pran Prathishta puja was 22-year-old priest Mohit Pandey, adding a touch of youthful enthusiasm to the solemn ceremony.
Mohit Pandey’s journey to this revered position began when he enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts program at Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University in the 2020-21 academic year. His educational path commenced after completing Class X at Dudeshwar Ved Vidyalaya in Ghaziabad. Subsequently, Pandey pursued his Master of Arts (Acharya) degree at Tirupati’s Venkateswara Vedic University, where he is currently preparing for his PhD.
Chosen from a pool of 3,000 applicants across the country, Pandey, along with 28 other priests, participated in the puja at the Ram Mandir after successfully navigating a rigorous selection process that included interviews. Presently, Pandey is undergoing a six-month training program in preparation for his duties as a priest at the Ayodhya Ram temple.
Mahant Narayan Giri, the chief patron of Dudheshwar Ved Vidyalaya, expressed immense pride in Pandey’s accomplishment, emphasizing the ten years of dedicated training he received at the institution.
