Karnataka is all set to get its second Vande Bharat Express in July. The railway will connect the capital of Karnataka, Bengaluru to Hubballi and Dharwad. While it takes around seven hours to reach Hubli from Bengaluru at present, it will only take five hours with the Vande Bharat Express.
According to reports, electrification work and track strengthening have been completed and the project currently is in the final stages of discussion.
“It was a long pending demand. I had met Ashwini Vaishnav and he had promised to get a Vande Bharat train for Hubli and Dharwad. In July, we can expect the train to be operational,” Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, who is an MP from Dharwad, told India Today.
“Hubballi- Dharwad is the second most travelled area after Bengaluru. This was a long-pending demand. At present, it takes 7 hours to reach Hubli. After July, it will take only 5 hours,” continued Pralhad Joshi.

This will be Karnataka’s second Vande Bharat Express. The first express was flagged off by the Indian Prime Minister in November 2022, from Bengaluru. It runs between Chennai and Mysuru and reduces the travel time between the two destinations.
