Ahead of the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra announced the party’s manifesto for the state’s youth, claiming that only the Congress party can provide the state’s youth with a new vision. The party is focusing on youth and women in this election, and has promised that in Uttar Pradesh, 40% of tickets would be reserved for women.
Rahul Gandhi said the ‘youth manifesto’ named ‘Bharti Vidhan’ was developed after contacting youngsters whose perspectives are represented in it, speaking at a news conference at the launch of the youth manifesto. “The youth in Uttar Pradesh need a new vision and only Congress can give that vision to the state,” Rahul Gandhi said.
“We don’t spread hatred, we unite people and we want to create a new Uttar Pradesh with the strength of youth,” he added.
Priyanka Gandhi, the party’s leader, stated that the state’s largest challenge is recruiting, and that the youth feel dissatisfied. She stated that her party in Uttar Pradesh wants the focus to be on development rather than the current negative propaganda based on caste or communalism.
Women’s rights and empowerment are rarely the exclusive emphasis of a political party’s election campaign. As it stands, every political party is attempting to appease female voters in some way. In election speeches, every politician talks about their empowerment. Only a few politicians or political parties, on the other hand, campaign on women’s problems.
Beginning February 10, voters in Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Manipur, Punjab, and Uttarakhand will vote in seven phases, with results expected on March 10.
