Ranbir Kapoor will be back to his groove with his romantic comedy, Tu Jhooti Mai Makkaar. The Luv Ranjan movie also marks the return of Shraddha Kapoor to the big screen after three years.
Releasing on Holi, the film will be hoping to have a profitable run at the box office, to end the dry run for most of the Hindi Cinema movies. Pathan which was released earlier this year broke all the records at the box office, as it became the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time. However, just when everyone thought that the SRK-starrer has opened the floodgates for success in movies back, the industry met with two humongous disasters, in Shehzada and Selfiee.
Tu Jhooti main makkaar promises to bring back some money to the running as the advance booking for the film started on a positive note. According to a report by India Today, the movie grossed over Rs. 1 crore, on day one of the advance bookings. The movie, which was shot for 180 days, is said to have been made on a budget of over 80 crores. Given the current trend in the film industry, the movie would need to deliver its content to even get the status of a hit.
The movie will be released during the festivities of Holi. The film, which was released on this date in 2022, did not meet a great end (Bachchan Pandey). Although placed well, Tu Jhooti mai makkaar might not be able to break the record of becoming the highest-grossing holiday movie, a record which is held by Akshay Kumar starrer Kesari.
TJMM is Ranbir Kapoor’s third film since his comeback in 2022. After the release of his mega-successful Sanju in 2018, Ranbir Kapoor was forced to take a break for over four years, a part of it due to personal commitments.
Shraddha Kapoor will also be seen making her comeback on the big screen, as it has been three years since her last release at the Box Office.
Besides Shradhha Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor, the movie will also mark the debut of comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi. Reports suggest that the movie will also have a cameo from Kartik Aaryan.
