After a video of a Japanese woman being groped went viral on Indian social media, the Delhi police said that they have written to the Japanese embassy requesting them to provide information about her. The embassy, though, was contacted by a few news organisations and they said that they do not have any information about such incidents.
The police stated that the woman was a tourist in India and was staying at Paharganj. However, reports suggest that she has now moved to Bangladesh. According to the police, three boys, including a juvenile have been apprehended by the authorities and they have also confessed to the incident.

“No complaint or call relating to any kind of misbehaviour with any foreigner has been received at the Paharganj police station. An email has been sent to the Japanese embassy requesting help in establishing the identity of the girl or any other details about the incident.” said the police.
The video which went viral shows a group of boys misbehaving with the tourist and smearing colours on her, in an inappropriate way. The police are trying to get in touch with the girl as further legal action against the accused will only be police after her statement.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Commission for Women has issued a notice to the Delhi police, asking them to examine the video to find out more details about the perpetrators.
