Prime Minister Narendra Modi is known for his boisterous speeches, but he has minimal interactions with the media. In his eight years as Prime Minister of India, he has yet to hold a single press conference. When it comes to making crucial announcements to the press, Prime Minister Modi often keeps it one-sided. PM Modi’s visit to Germany followed the same pattern, when Chancellor Olaf and PM Modi, reportedly at PM Modi’s request, did not accept questions from the press after announcing trade agreements.
The PM seemed to have broken this streak when he made a rare engagement with the press in Denmark on Tuesday, a video of which has since gone viral. When PM Modi was encircled by a group of media while on his way to a summit in Denmark, he seemed to become extremely flustered, not knowing what to say. A clip of Modi exclaiming, “Oh My God,” quite awkwardly was captured. The short video has gone viral on social media, with the hashtag #OhMyGod trending across the country.
