SRK and Deepika’s starring Pathaan faces another hurdle just weeks before its release. Members of Bajrang Dal, on Wednesday, got violent and vandalised the Alpha One Mall in Ahmedabad’s Vastrapur to protest the release of the upcoming film Pathaan.
Bajrang Dal members were seen tearing down posters of Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika that had been placed around the mall’s assistance. Bajrang Dal Gujarat had earlier tweeted, “#BoycottPathaanMovie. Today in Karnavati Bajrangis thrashed Pathaan. Movies of anti-Sanatan Dharma Shah Rukh Khan and Tukde gang’s Deepika Padukone will not be allowed to run now. Warned by going to the multiplex, if the movie is released, Bajrang Dal will show his attitude. At Bajrang Dal in honor of Dharma.”

This comes after Hindu Jagran Manch members protested against the movie at INOX theatres in Indore. They raised slogans and submitted a memorandum to the theatre management demanding that the movie should not be released in theatres. President of Hindu Jagran Manch Jagdish Khatri said, “If the film Pathaan is released, then there will be a fierce protest. Today, we have given a memorandum to the management of Inox Theater regarding the non-release of the film.”
Spokesperson of Gujarat Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Hitendrasinh Rajput said, “Bajrang Dal workers got to know that posters of Pathaan movie were put up in the theatre. So, it was a ‘pradarshan (protest)’ as they did not want the movie to be released in the theatre, and police detained them.”
Inspector of Vastrapur police station JK Dangarr said, “There were about 10-12 people of the Bajrang Dal who went to tear off posters of Pathaan movie at the theatre inside Alpha One mall in Vastrapur. They tore the movie posters, kicked and stepped on them.
No police complaint has been filed by the cinema yet but there is no call on the compensation for the property damaged.
Pooja Bhatt slammed the vandalism
Protest-An organised public demonstration of disapproval”(of some law, policy, idea,or state of affairs)
Riot-A disturbance of the peace created by an assemblage of people acting with a common purpose & in a violent/tumultuous manner to the terror of the public” https://t.co/QC3AY389gD— Pooja Bhatt (@PoojaB1972) January 5, 2023
Earlier the song from the movie Pathaan created controversy around Deepika’s orange dress which allegedly hurt Hindu sentiments. Since then the #BOYCOTTPATHAAN is making it to the trending list. CBFC had to get involved further to order #Pathaan makers to replace close-up shots of #DeepikaPadukone and the sensual dance movements with “suitable scenes”.
The stars and the makers have not responded to any criticism as most of the fans are awaiting the release of the movie which is scheduled for 25th January.
