Rajinikanth, the Tamil superstar, met Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday in Lucknow. The superstar will watch his recent blockbuster ‘Jailer’ with the chief minister. “I will watch the film with the CM. It’s God’s blessing that the movie is becoming a hit”, Rajinikanth had told ANI ahead of his visit to the state capital. Keshav Prasad Maurya, Adityanath’s deputy, attended a special Jailer screening earlier in the day in Lucknow.
“I also got a chance to watch the movie ‘Jailer’. I had watched Rajinikanth’s many films and he is such a talented actor that even though there is not much content in the movie still he with his performance, he increases the importance of the film”, PTI quoted the deputy chief minister as saying.
Rajinikanth, who arrived in Lucknow for the screening of the film. He also met Uttar Pradesh governor Anandiben Patel. “Popular actor and director Rajinikanth met governor Smt Anandiben Patel at Raj Bhavan”, the governor’s X handle posted.

The superstar had previously been in Ranchi, Jharkhand. On Friday, he paid a visit to the state’s well-known Chhinnamasta Temple and offered prayers there. He meditated for an hour in the ‘Yagoda Ashram’ in Ranchi. He next met with C P Radhakrishnan, the governor of Jharkhand, at the Raj Bhavan.
Jailer has made money at the box office, with an eight-day total of 235.65 crores collected as of August 17. Rajinikanth plays a dad seeking revenge for the death of his police son in Nelson’s film.
Along with him, the movie also stars key performances by Priyanka Mohan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vasanth Ravi, and Vinayakan. Jackie Shroff, Mohanlal, and Shivarajkumar all make significant cameo appearances.
