Puneet Kerehalli, a 32-year-old cow vigilante, and leader of the ‘Rashtra Rakshana Pade’ group residing in Bengaluru , has been arrested by the Bengaluru City Crime branch under the Goonda Act.
The Bengaluru City Crime branch has taken decisive action, invoked the Goonda Act and effected the arrest of the 32-year-old Kerehalli. With a residence in Bengaluru, Kerehalli’s notoriety extends across the state as he confronts a total of 10 cases registered at different police stations. Engaging in a pattern of actions that disrupted the delicate fabric of communal harmony and public tranquility, Puneet Kerehalli directed his efforts towards confronting those involved in cow slaughter and transportation, thereby instigating concerns among business operators.
His actions, as noted, led to a breach of peace and a distortion of communal concord. Spanning back to 2013, Kerehalli’s record reveals a total of 10 registered cases against him, with the current year accounting for two alone, underscoring the persistence of his alleged disruptive conduct. Hailing from Hassan, Kerehalli has made Bengaluru his residence for a considerable span of time, which adds a layer of complexity to the legal proceedings he now faces.
