Shah Rukh Khan is making a comeback with a high-octane action movie, ‘Pathaan’. The movie is a part of Yash Raj Productions Spy universe, which also includes movies like ‘Tiger’, and ‘War’.
Pathaan has been in news for the last few months due to several on-screen and off-screen reasons. After the unanimous love for the teaser of the movie, the two songs from the Vishal-Shekhar album could not hit a chord with several moviegoers. However, given the fact that the movie is Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback to the big screen after 4 years, it already has the stamp of one of the biggest brands in the country.

“Yash Raj Films has been the front-runner to adopt path-breaking technology that pushes the envelope to give audiences an immersive movie-going experience. We are proud to announce that Pathaan will be the first Indian film to release in ICE format to give audiences an immersive experience,” says Rohan Malhotra, Vice President of Distribution at Yash Raj Films.
What is the ICE format?
An ICE theatre is a much more advanced theatre than usual. It enhances the visual experience, as it has side panels along the main screen. Besides providing a peripheral visual experience, it also allows the viewers to enjoy the background contrast of motion and colours.
“The format debuted in India with two operational PVR Cinema sites in Delhi NCR screening Avatar: The Way of Water and it is a rage with audiences across the world. Adapting and embracing new tech before anyone else has always been a part of our YRF’s DNA,” said Rohan Malhotra.
“YRF will be continuing the practice of being the first adopter of premium formats in India like we have done in the past like Dhoom 3 (2013) – 1st Indian film in IMAX, Thugs of Hindostan (2018) – 1st Indian film in 4DX and MX4D, War (2019) – 1st Indian film in D-Box,” he added.
Pathan will be released on the occasion of India’s republic day, 2023. Besides Shah Rukh Khan, the movie also stars John Abraham and Deepika Padukone.
