A 56 year-old-man, who owns a shop in Boriwali, has been arrested for killing his 36-year-old live-in partner in a shocking case. The man, identified as Manoj Sahani, cut the body of his partner in 20 pieces at his rented apartment in Mumbai’s Mira Road.
According to reports, the man had been staying with the woman, named Saraswati Viadya, in flat no. 704, in a Mira Road apartment for the last three years. The police took action against the accused after the neighbours complained of a foul smell from Sahani’s flat.
The decomposing body parts of the woman led the police to believe that the incident would have occurred a couple of days before it came to light.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Jayant Bajbale said that the couple fought over some matter which led to the man killing her. “Manoj Sahani and Saraswati Vaidya were in a live-in relationship and used to live in the Geeta Akash Deep building. The couple had a fight over some matter following which the woman was murder by her partner. Her body was cut into pieces with a cutter. When we reached the house and opened the door, we understood it was a case of murder and the suspect tried to hide the evidence,” Bajbale told India Today
