At the event were Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Chairman of the Legislative Council Basavaraj Horatti, Ministers of Law and Parliamentary Affairs H.K. Patil, Minor Irrigation, Science, and Technology N.S. Boseraju, and others. CM Siddaramaiah wished the new MLCs well.

Working On Parks And Employment:
M.R. Seetharam has campaigned to preserve his district’s parks and open spaces. Additionally, he has implemented several government programmes for self-employment, including the Antyodaya, Akshara Dasoha, and Yeshaswini Cooperative Health Schemes.

Late Son of Dr Ramiah:
He is the son of Dr. M. S. Ramaiah (late GEF founder and one of Karnataka’s early leaders in healthcare and education). He attended St. Joseph’s School for his elementary education. He graduated from St. Joseph’s College with a master’s in science.

Family Into Politics And Social Activities:
He is wed to Shruthy Seetharam, a homemaker and enthusiastic participant in charitable endeavours for the less fortunate. He has two children; the eldest, Raksha Ramaiah, is a vice president for Bangalore Urban District in the Indian Youth Congress. Sundar Ram, his younger son, is also an IYC office holder and currently serves as the General Secretary for the Malleswaram Assembly constituency.

His First Election:
In 1999, M.R. Seetharam ran in his first election. He defeated Raghupathy M of the JD(U) in the Malleshwaram Constituency by 20,000 votes. After Independence, this was the first time the Congress took a seat from the Malleshwaram Assembly Constituency.

Multiple Incharges:
He was in charge of managing the party offices from 1997 to 2000, as well as the Bengaluru division of the Kolar, Tumkur, Shimoga, Davanagere, Chitradurga, Mysuru, and Haveri districts for the 2000 Zilla Parishad elections.

His Contributions To The Society:
He provided more than 300 Sikh immigrants with permanent housing. Later, he gave hundreds of auto-rickshaws to young people as part of a self-employment programme. Parsi Garden Slum was developed and renovated under his tenure. He provided trained women with hundreds of sewing machines and provided stipends to embroidery-skilled women. Sankey Tank Garden was created and revitalised through his personal initiative, and a jogging route was added.

A Mobile Planetarium
In 2017, M.R. Seetharam announced the “Taare Zameen Par” mobile planetarium initiative. To teach and educate children from the state’s remote areas about astronomy, 5 mobile vans would travel the state. This programme is a first of its sort in the nation.
There are seven planetariums in total, although the semi-rural and rural areas of the country are inaccessible to pupils. More and more children will have access to these facilities thanks to the mobile planetarium programme, which will provide them with a fun method to study the cosmos.

Helped Evicted Families Settle
M.R. Seetharam helped the evicted families to settle in Bayadagotta and Beserahalli of Somawarpet taluk and Kedanallur of Virajpet taluk. After being forcibly removed from Diddahalli village and Hoddur-palyamadu burial cemetery by the Forest Department, a new layout was made to situate them as well as the construction of basic facilities, including homes, electrification, roads, and drinking water facilities to rehabilitate them.

His Charm In Malleswaram
In 2001, M.R. Seetharam was elected as an AICC member. When the BBMP elections were held on November 11, 2001, INC, which had been elected as an MLA of Malleswaram, had won five of the assembly’s seven wards.

Set Up A Training Institution:
He helped establish Yeshwanthpur’s BBMP computer training centre, which offers free instruction to the public. The majority of the trainees are women (homemakers) and young people. Through this project, more than 800 people have been trained thus far. M.R. Seetharam is responsible for covering the instructors’ maintenance and pay.
