As Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath was sworn in, he had another 52 ministers who were sworn in as cabinet ministers for the second term. Of these 52 ministers sworn in, Danish Ansari is the only Muslim face. Mr Ansari hails and represents the Ballia district. He had defeated Moshin Raza, who served as the minority’s welfare minister in Aditynath’s 1.0 government.
Mr Ansari had joined the ABVP when he was a student at Lucknow University. He is one of the 31 new faces that have made entry into Yogi Aditynath’s government.
While talking with the reporters, he stated that it was not a surprise that he was chosen as he knew that the BJP recognized the hard work of each party worker. He went on to say that it is a symbol of the party’s trust in its employees.
Moreover, Mr Ansari claims that the faith of the Muslims in the BJP has increased in UP. He stated that the welfare schemes introduced by the BJP had benefitted the Muslims and the government did not ask for anyone’s caste and religion while offering facilities.
Along with Mr Ansari, Baldev Aulakh, a Sikh minister of the state and the second-time lawmaker from Bilaspur, will be the only minority representation in Adityanath’s new government.
Mr Ansari is the general secretary of BJP’s minority cell in UP and was appointed in the current position right before the 2022 assembly elections. He was also appointed as a member of the Urdu Language Committee in October 2018.
