In response to the soaring prices of tomatoes, fast-food chain McDonald’s has decided to remove it from its menu. Specifically, the North and East branches of this fast-food giant, located in the National Capital, have announced that they will be serving dishes without tomatoes for the time being, citing a “temporary” seasonal problem. As a result, tomatoes will be noticeably absent from the fast-food chain’s offerings.
Full Story
A representative of the fast-food company (McDonald’s) issued a public statement on Friday, explaining that the absence of tomatoes in their menu items is due to these “seasonal issues. “The representative’s statement conveyed the following message: “As a brand committed to the highest standards of food quality and safety, we use ingredients only after rigorous food quality and safety checks. However, due to seasonal issues and despite our best efforts, we are not able to procure tomatoes that pass our world-class, stringent quality checks.” This declaration serves to inform customers about the temporary unavailability of tomatoes and offers an explanation rooted in the challenges posed by the current season.
A Twitter user recently shared another apologetic statement from the food chain on the social media platform. The statement acknowledged the brand’s persistent efforts but expressed their inability to acquire sufficient quantities of tomatoes that meet their high-quality standards. Consequently, they expressed regret in informing customers that, for the time being, their products will be served without tomatoes.
