Veteran Hindi film actor and filmmaker Satish Kaushik’s death has sent shock waves throughout the country. The 66 – year – old actor died of a heart attack in Delhi. Known for his comic timing as an actor, Kaushik was also an ace filmmaker who gave the likes of the Tere Naam and Kaagaz to the fans.

Satish Kaushik as a Dialogue Writer
For most of his career, Kaushik featured in mainstream Hindi films, but that wasn’t how his start was meant to be. Satish Kaushik’s first film as an actor was the iconic dark comedy Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro. Besides acting in the movie, Kaushik used his witty sense of humour to write dialogue for the movie.
Range as a director
Along with acting in several movies, Satish Kaushik has also been a regular filmmaker. He made his directorial debut with Sridevi’s Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja. After the failure of his first two films as a director, Kaushik finally delivered a hit with Anil Kapoor starrer Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain (1999).
In 2003, Kaushik directed his most successful film, Tere Naam with Salman Khan. The remake of a Tamil movie, Tere Naam was praised by critics and audiences alike.

A Business Blunder
Satish Kaushik collaborated with the Parsvnath developers for the Chandigarh Film City Project. The real estate company was forced to give up the project after foul play was exposed in the project.
Winner of prestigious awards
Satish Kaushik has won two Filmfare awards in the best comedian award category (1990 and 1997). He also won a National Film Award for his Haryanvi film, Chhoriyan Chhoron Se Kam Nai Hoti.
