KSRTC’s Weekend Plan: 1,200 Buses For The Upcoming Gowri-Ganesha Festival Travelers

As the much-anticipated Gowri Ganesha Habba or festival approaches, scheduled for September 18, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) is gearing up to meet the surge in travel demand. In preparation for this festive occasion, KSRTC has announced plans to deploy an impressive fleet of 1,200 additional buses throughout the state, ensuring that the anticipated throngs of celebrants have convenient and reliable transportation options for the weekend festivities.

According to a press release from the KSRTC, these additional buses will be put into service on the 15th, 16th, and 17th of September. During these days, the majority of these buses will initiate their journeys from Bengaluru, the state’s capital, serving as a central hub for travelers. These buses are expected to connect Bengaluru with various cities within Karnataka and even reach destinations in neighboring states. 

Furthermore, special buses will be in operation on the festival day itself, the 18th of September, originating from various locations within Bengaluru to accommodate the surge in commuters making their way to celebrations and gatherings across the city. This proactive move by the KSRTC aims to ensure a seamless travel experience for individuals partaking in the festivities, allowing them to celebrate the Gowri Habba or Ganesha festival with ease and comfort. 

 

In a bid to facilitate hassle-free travel for devotees and celebrants during the upcoming Gowri-Ganesha Habba, KSRTC has announced the exclusive operation of special buses. These specially designated buses will exclusively run from the bustling Bengaluru Kempegowda Bus Station, serving a wide array of destinations. 

Commencing from this central hub, these buses will transport passengers to a plethora of locations, including Dharmasthala, Kukke Subramanya, Shivamogga, Hassan, Mangaluru, Kundapura, Sringeri, Horanadu, Davangere, Hubbali, Dharwad, Belagavi, Vijayapura, Gokarna, Sirsi, Karwar, Raichur, Kalaburagi, Ballari, Koppala, Yadgir, Bidar, Tirupati, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, and several other places.

The KSRTC has strategically deployed special buses from various bus stations to cater to the specific travel needs of festival-goers during the upcoming Gowri-Ganesha Habba celebration. At the Mysuru Road Bus Station, dedicated special buses will be exclusively operated, offering seamless connectivity to destinations such as Mysuru, Hunsur, Piriyapatna, Virajpet, Kushalanagar, and Madikeri. 

For those seeking premier travel options, KSRTC has scheduled all premiere special buses to depart from the BMTC Bus Station at Shanthinagar (TTMC). These premier services will whisk passengers away to key destinations in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, including Madurai, Kumbakonam, Chennai, Coimbatore, Trichy, Palakkad, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Kozhikode, and other significant locations. This meticulous planning by KSRTC ensures that travelers have tailored transportation choices to meet their specific requirements, further enhancing the overall festival experience.

 

KSRTC is going the extra mile to streamline the travel experience for festival attendees by introducing convenient facilities for advance reservations of special buses. Passengers now have the option to secure computerized reservation tickets well in advance, ensuring a stress-free journey. 

The booking process has been made user-friendly with the option to reserve seats online via the official KSRTC website at http://www.ksrtc.karnataka.gov.in. Moreover, to cater to the diverse needs of travelers, advanced reservations for both the specially designated buses and the regular KSRTC services can be conveniently made at any of the 691 counters scattered across Karnataka and other states.

For those traveling in groups or planning a round trip, KSRTC has introduced enticing discounts. A substantial 5 percent discount will be applied to the fare when four or more passengers book tickets for a single journey, promoting cost-effective group travel. Furthermore, passengers can enjoy an even greater advantage with a 10 percent discount offered on return journey tickets, provided that both onward and return tickets are booked simultaneously, encouraging travelers to explore their festival destinations with added savings.

To ensure accessibility and convenience for passengers from various regions, special buses will also be made available at all taluk or district bus stands within the KSRTC’s jurisdiction, catering to the dynamic traffic demands and further facilitating seamless travel during the festive season.
