Former Karnataka Minister and senior BJP leader KS Eshwarappa received a surprise call from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who expressed his gratitude towards the politician’s loyalty and commitment to the party. Eshwarappa, who had expressed his willingness to contest in the upcoming elections, was denied a ticket by the party officials.
During the phone conversation, Prime Minister Modi said, “You have demonstrated your commitment to the party. I am very happy with you. So, I decided to talk to you.” In response, Eshwarappa expressed his joy at receiving a call from a leader like Modi, despite being an ordinary party worker.
Eshwarappa also stated that he would support the party’s chosen candidate from his constituency and promised to fully commit to helping the BJP win in the state of Karnataka.

However, the Indian National Congress has criticized the Prime Minister’s praise for Eshwarappa, who has been accused of asking for a 40% commission. The Congress Party also highlighted the corrupt practices of Eshwarappa, which have allegedly led to the suicide of an individual. Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala called it a “sad day” in the history of Indian democracy.
