Veteran Kannada actor Krishna G Rao died due to age-related illness on Wednesday, December 7, at a private hospital in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The actor who rose to fame with the KGF franchise was hospitalized following an age-related issue. Fans on social media have been mourning his demise and also remembered his role in the Kannada action blockbuster.
According to unclaimed reports, the actor was visiting a relative’s house and was rushed to the nearest medical facility at midnight after complaining of exhaustion. He was then undergoing treatment in the Incentive Care Unit (ICU). He breathed his last today.
Krishna Rao worked as an AD for many years. His role as a blind man, popularly called the ‘KGF Grandfather’, came with its decent share of whistle-worthy dialogues and Rao delivered with conviction. His dialogue in KGF: Chapter 2, “Let me give you a piece of advice. Don’t go to stand in his way sir,” became very popular and he got recognition for the part.
Krishna had worked as an assistant director for many years in the Kannada film industry, while also making appearances in small roles, including late actor Shankar Nag’s films. Apparently after the release of KGF: Chapter 1 in 2018, he featured in 30 films and after the second installment he starred in around 15 films. Speaking to TV9 Kannada, the actor said that after KGF he has worked in 30 films.
