Four Karnataka police officers, including an inspector, were taken into custody for alleged extortion by the Kerala Police. The four had come to the state, according to a Kerala Police officer, in order to apprehend two suspects in a fraud case that had been reported in Karnataka. The two suspects were eventually located and taken into custody, and the Karnataka police officers allegedly requested money to release them.
It is disgraceful that four Karnataka police officers have been detained by Kerala police for extorting money from a cheating case accused in neighbouring state. The officers should be summarily dismissed if the allegations are true
