Veteran Sandalwood actor Kala Tapasvi Rajesh passed away at the age of 89 in Bengaluru on Saturday morning.
February 09, he was admitted to a private hospital where he was kept on a ventilator concerning respiratory and age-related ailments.
Reportedly his health deteriorated in the morning hours rapidly, and he passed away, his final rites were held at his Bangalore Residence in Vidyaranyapura at 6 PM today.
Throughout his career, he was seen on screen in more than 150 movies and won various awards for his astounding performance, Kala Tapasvi Rajesh was his stage name whereas he was born as Muni Chowdappa on April 15, 1932.
He started to perform in plays and theatres right from his childhood, he came to be known as Vidyasagar in his theatre days.
He began his acting journey through ‘Sudarshana Nataka Mandali’ and proceeded to give a 60’s hit movie, ‘Namma ooru’. He saw many successful movies throughout his career and came to be known as Kalatapasvi Rajesh in honor of his talent and work.
His daughter Asha Rani, wife of actor Arjun Sarja, followed in her father’s footsteps and grew up to be an actress herself.
