Jeremy Lee Renner, popularly known as Hawkeye from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Also, known for his roles in films like Mission Impossible, Bourne Legacy and so on.

1. Started as a small actor and worked as a make-up artist
Renner made his film debut as an underachieving student in the 1995 comedy National Lampoon’s Senior Trip. He had a minor role in the television film A Friend’s Betrayal. Renner had guest roles in Zoe, Duncan, Jack and Jane (1999), The Net (1999), The Time of Your Life (1999), and Angel (2000). In 2001 Renner had a small role in an episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. He couldn’t earn much with small roles. So, he worked as a make-up artist to pay bills. He worked as a fragrance model at a mall after which he got a job at a Lancôme cosmetics counter.
2. Dahmer helped him go big
It was his performance as Jeffrey Dahmer, the serial killer in the 2002 movie “Dahmer,” that impressed the director Kathryn Bigelow and earned him the chance to play Sgt William James in “The Hurt Locker.”
3. Renner loves renovating houses
Jeremy Renner is not just passionate about acting but he loves renovating houses. Yes, he has remodelled over 20 homes that include the Hollywood Hills’ 7420 Franklin Avenue, which once belonged to Hollywood star Preston Sturgess.
Jeremy believes, “There’s a lot of great old architecture out there. You just have to reimagine it with today’s living standards.”
4. Talents apart from acting
Jeremy Renner is a singer-songwriter, guitarist, keyboardist, and drummer. He used to play drums, keys, and guitar for a band called Sons of Ben. 5. Jennifer Lawrence’s cousin
Long-distant cousin. Two amazing individuals being cousins, that just hits differently. They are fifth cousins. This fact came to light in 2015, when researchers at Ancestry.com discovered that the two share an ancestor in Kentucky, a farmer Robert Tague, who is Lawrence’s fifth great-grandfather and Renner’s fourth.
6. A martial arts champ
Man’s exceptionally talented. The 51-year-old is known to be a method actor. So, for Mission Impossible and MCU films, he learned two types of martial arts: Arnis, a Filipino martial arts form that is weapon-based, and Muay Thai (combat sport). 7. Left Super 8 for Mission Impossible
He was first offered the role of Jackson Lamb in “Super 8,” when he got to know that Tom Cruise and Brad Bird were interested in casting him as William Brandt in the “Mission Impossible” franchise, he chose the role of Brandt. At the time of the offer, he was only briefed on the character and film, as the script was not yet ready.
8. His love for the character of Hawkeye
During the filming of the final battle scene in “The Avengers,” he performed the stunt of crashing through a window by himself. He was severely injured and had ripped a muscle from his back to his shoulder. Jeremy quit Mission Impossible for the Avengers. He was unhappy with less screen time in the first Avengers movie so the director gave him a more significant role in the second one.
9. Ben Affleck is Jeremy’s fan
Before the release of the movie “The Town,” director Ben Affleck praised Renner for his performance and joked that if there was any bad shot featuring Jeremy, editing would easily cut to Jeremy looking at a napkin, to make the scene work.
10. Jeremy’s admiration for the armed forces
Jeremy supports families of deceased soldiers irrespective of whether they are in active service. This happened after he portrayed a soldier’s character in The Hurt Locker, where he realized the plight of the armed forces and their families. He went on to become an Honorary Board member of the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), which helps those who have lost a loved one working in the armed forces.
Marvel actor Jeremy Renner was airlifted on Sunday after the safety feature on his Snowcat plow failed and sent it rolling over his legs. In a statement, Mr Renner’s spokesperson previously said that the actor was in “critical but stable condition” after the injury. “His family is with him, and he is receiving excellent care,” the spokesperson added.
