The documentary about the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has triggered a massive outrage. Released on January 17, 2023, the documentary re-ignited the debate surrounding the Gujarat 2002 riots.
The Documentary claims that the then Chief Minister of Gujarat did prevent the police from acting to stop the violence against the Muslims.
India hit back at the allegations made through the documentary and called it a propaganda piece.
“We think this is a propaganda piece designed to push a particular discredited narrative. The bias, lack of objectivity, and, frankly, a continuing colonial mindset are blatantly visible. If anything, this documentary is a reflection on the agency and individuals that are peddling this narrative again. It makes us wonder about the purpose of this exercise and the agenda behind it, and frankly, we do not wish to dignify such efforts.”, said Arindam Bagchi, spokesperson of, the External Affairs Ministry.

BBC called out by their own Prime Minister Rishi Sunak for their documentary on PM Modi

The world cannot afford to miss this interview straight out of the BBC 2 documentary on Narendra Modi. One of the rare occasions when Modi spoke to a journalist after the 2002 pogrom in GUJARAT. This is his attitude to journalists and journalism and minorities

Bagchi stressed the fact that the documentary has been made with a colonial mindset, given the usage of words in the same. “I heard words like ‘inquiry’, and ‘investigation’ . There’s a reason we used the words ‘colonial mindset’. We don’t use words loosely. What inquiry? They were diplomats here. Investigation! Are they ruling the country?” continued the spokesperson.
30+ people here, please stop dismissing the BBC Documentary as "nothing new".
Show it to your nearest 20 year old instead. I can bet that 90% of those would be shook by this new information.

Difficult to understand why Bhakts are angry over a BBC documentary talking about ill-treatment of minorities under their Supreme Leader when that is precisely the reason why they vote for him.

News Organisation Al-Jazeera contacted the British Broadcasting Company for their comments on the same. The BBC stated that their piece on the Indian Prime Minister was “rigorously researched”. They also made it clear that the documentary had a wide range of perspectives, which also included those from the right end of the spectrum.
