The recent matrimonial union of Harish Salve, a distinguished former Solicitor General of India, has garnered significant attention. This marked Salve’s third venture into wedlock. His previous marriages were with Meenakshi, his first wife, and Caroline Brossard, demonstrating the multifaceted nature of his personal life and offering a glimpse into the intriguing facets of his journey through matrimony.

Salve’s previous marriage to Meenakshi concluded in June 2020, bringing to an end a 38-year long partnership. From this union, they share the joys of parenthood, having raised two daughters named Sakshi and Saaniya together. 

Who is Harish Salve: 

Harish Salve is an Indian senior advocate who practices at the Supreme Court of India. He served as the Solicitor General of India from 1 November 1999 to 3 November 2002. He also fought the case of Kulbhushan Jadhav at the International Court of Justice (ICJ). On 16 January 2020 he was appointed as a Queen’s Counsel for the courts of England and Wales.

The recent wedding ceremony, marking his third nuptial journey, was a gathering of intimate circles, with close friends and family gracing the occasion. Among the notable attendees were luminaries like Nita Ambani, Lalit Modi, and Ujjwala Raut, adding a touch of glamor and significance to the event.

At 68 years of age, Harish Salve, a seasoned advocate practicing at the Supreme Court of India, boasts an impressive legal career enriched by his involvement in several high-profile cases. One of the most noteworthy cases in his portfolio is that of Kulbhushan Jadhav, a name etched in international headlines. Jadhav had been sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court on espionage charges. In an act of legal altruism, Salve chose to represent Jadhav for a nominal fee of just ₹1, a gesture that earned him widespread acclaim and commendation, showcasing both his legal prowess and his commitment to the cause of justice.

Tata Group, Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries, and ITC Group are some of his prominent clients. He also appeared in the Krishna Godavari Basin gas dispute case against Anil Ambani’s Reliance Natural Resources Ltd.

In 2015, Harish Salve became Salman Khan’s lawyer in a famous case from 2002. Before that, Salman Khan was sentenced to five years in jail. But, with Salve’s help, Salman Khan was declared not guilty in December 2015 by the Bombay High Court. Harish Salve, who had been India’s Solicitor General from November 1999 to November 2002, was also honored as the Queen’s Counsel for the courts in Wales and England in January.

Harish Salve, a legal luminary renowned for his extensive workload and accomplishments, embarked on his legal journey by pursuing a law degree from Nagpur University. He became a senior advocate at the Delhi High Court in 1992, and later, he became the Solicitor General of India. In 2013, he was asked to join Blackstone Chambers and became a member of the English Bar. His legal career has been very successful both in India and internationally.
