In a significant development, G.S. Umapati, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) member with an extensive background, has assumed the role of the new provincial convenor for the Karnataka South Province.

G.S. Umapati, originally from Adanur village, pursued his B.E. in Davangere, showcasing an early commitment to education. Following his engineering studies, he furthered his academic pursuits with an M.E. in Structures and another M.E. in Public Health in Kolkata, formerly known as K.R.E.C. in Mangalore. Umapati’s professional journey led him to the Karnataka Public Works Department (P.W.D.), where he served as a Superintendent Engineer until his retirement in 2018.
Umapati’s association with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh dates back to his student days, reflecting a longstanding commitment to the organization. Over the years, he took on various responsibilities within the RSS, demonstrating his dedication and leadership skills. His roles included serving as the Bellary District Executive, Davangere District System Leader, Davangere District Convenor, and the Divisional Convenor for Shimoga Division. Now, Umapati steps into the crucial position of the new provincial organizer for the southern province of Karnataka.
Apart from Umapati’s appointment, there have been other key leadership changes within the RSS. Mr. Milind Gokhale will now serve as the organizer of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Bangalore Metropolitan, while Dr. Narayan Shenai will take charge as the organizer of Mangalore Division. These appointments highlight the organization’s commitment to ensuring effective leadership across its various divisions.
