Hansal Mehta is back with another socio-political drama with ‘Scoop’. Situated in the journalistic circles of India, the story unravels the real-life court case involving journalist Jigna Vora. The series has opened up to raving reviews not just for the content but also for the casting.
Karishma Tanna, who is a well-known name in the Indian television content-consuming audience is the lead in ‘Scoop’. She portrays the central character of Vora (by a different name) and adds flavour to the already intriguing screenplay surrounding the state of journalism and law and order in the country.

Although famous for her roles on Indian television shows such as Naagin 3, Qayamat Ki Raat and ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’, Karishma has also featured in well-known Indian films such as ‘Sanju’, ‘Grand Masti’, and ‘Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari’.

Karishma Tanna is mostly known for her stint with the Hindi film industry, however, she has also featured in a Kannada movie named ‘I Am Sorry Mathe Banni Preethsona’. The movie was directed by Ravindra H P Das, and it had Prem in the lead role paired against Tanna. The film was received well by the audiences and the critics. The director of the film was awarded in the category of ‘best screenplay’ from the Karnataka State Film Awards.
Part of a classic
Tanna made her debut with the iconic Hindi soap, ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ in 2001. The show is regarded as one of the longest-running television shows in India. In one of her recent interviews, Tanna stated that her audition for the show did not go well, yet she made it to the final cast of the soap.

Karishma Tanna got married to a real estate business man named Varun Bangera in 2021. However, that was not her first relationship. In 2014, the actress made it to the headlines after her affair with another Bigg Boss 8 contestant and actor Upen Patel. Both of them got engaged and had plans of marriage, however, things did not end well, as they ended their relationship in 2016.

‘Scoop’ is not the first web series stint for the actress. She appeared in a few web series before her major series with Hansal Mehta.
She first ventured into the OTT space in 2018, when she starred in Ekta Kapoor’s Karrle Tu Bhi Mohabbat as Zoya Hussain. She has also appeared in a web series named Bullets as Lolo.
