You would be lying if we denied the fact that all of us have felt a bit sleepy while working. However, unlike in Japan, the ‘nap-culture’ is not commonplace in the country. So, news about sleeping solutions startup firm Wakefit spread like wildfire on Twitter after its owner Chaitanya Ramalingegowda e-mailed the employees about officially taking naps during work. It left netizens in awe!

A Twitter post shared by Wakefit shows the contents of the email as well: “We have decided to normalize afternoon naps at work and declare 2 to 2:30 pm as official nap time for all our employees. From now on, you will have the right to nap between 2 to 2:30 pm. Your calendar will be blocked during this time as official nap time. We are also working towards creating cozy nap pods,” read the e-mail.
The thirty minutes nap time was announced after he realized that despite being in the ‘sleep’ business for over six years, the company failed to give afternoon nap-time break to its workers.”We have always taken naps seriously, but starting today, we will be taking things up a notch,” Ramalingegowda said.
Why is this not a trend already? #normalizeNaps #worklifesleepbalance

So @WakefitCo announces official NAP TIME every afternoon – in fact going to install nap pods in office! Will this be a new trend in @peakbengaluru startups to nornamlize noon naps? pic.twitter.com/KeflGNnHDc
