To honour the great Indian musician AR Rahman, the Canadian city of Markham, named a street after him. The musician took to Twitter to express his gratitude for the recognition that he had received, as he never imagined that he would get such an honour.

Shaheed Bhagat Singh has a chowk named after him in Pakistan’s Lahore. According to various sources, he was executed there to honour him; the Pakistani government changed the name of Shadman chowk to Bhagat Singh Chowk. However, due to hardline Islamic fundamentalists’ opposition, the order stayed.
