According to a video being circulated on Facebook, the Chinese company Luppo has released cakes in India that contain drugs that paralyse children.
How true is this?
The post’s mention of Luppo cakes led to a Google search, which revealed that the strikingly similar message had gone viral in other countries as well.
The first part to focus on is that these cakes aren’t even produced by a Chinese company. The production of these Luppo cakes is undertaken by Solen, a Turkish company.
The authorities of “Sölen” have stated on numerous occasions that the post is false.
They even went so far as to provided documentation detailing the production process, contamination precautions, and safety certificates of the “Sölen” plants, indicating that none of the foreign objects in the video are actually there.
Moreover, a representative for “Sölen” has outlined that several filtration methods used in the production of Luppo cakes block particles that are wider or taller than 700 microns.
It was also found that the product is currently only offered for sale in Iraq.
