Since the trailer of Lal Singh Chaddha has been released, netizens have heavily trolled it and called for boycotting the film! The film, which is set to be released next Thursday, on 11th August, is under controversy due to a number of reasons.

Firstly, netizens are reminding people the statement made by Aamir in 2015, regarding the growing “intolerance” in India, which created quite a stir in the past as well. His wife had said that he and their kids did not feel safe in India and thought it would be better to shift abroad.

ट्रोलर्स ने कहा कि आमिर खान ने 'हिंदू धर्म' का 'अपमान' किया था..इसलिए हम इस फिल्म को नहीं देखेंगे।

Secondly, Kareena Kapoor’s statement on nepotism came into the limelight. She had said that people want to follow ‘star kids’ and watch their movies. She added that no one is forced, and one can choose not to watch the film. That is why netizens replied that they would boycott her upcoming film and would not watch Lal Singh Chaddha.
The most important reason given by netizens for boycotting the upcoming film is the indecent and offensive portrayal of Hindu gods and religion in Aamir Khan’s 2014 film PK.

Netizens also claim that Khan had said in his show ‘Satyamev Jayte’ that it is better to feed a poor child rather than offer milk to Lord Shiva. To this, netizens replied that it is better to fund a poor child’s education rather than watch his film.

Netizens also said that the movie is copied and remade, and it is rather better to watch the original version: “Forrest Gump”. Aamir Khan was upset over all this and said to India Today that people were mistaken to believe that he does not love his nation. He also requested people saying,”Please watch my film”.

Meanwhile, lead actress Kareena Kapoor said that if Lal Singh Chaddha is a good movie, it would be succesful and people would watch it despite all the controversies surrounding it. While Kareena asserted that everyone can have an opinion these days, she believes that a good film can outshine anything.

However, this has not helped as the actress is being brutally trolled, and the boycott trend has only gained momentum on social media with netizens tweeting about how arrogant the actress is and that they as an audience too must learn to ignore such films.

To conclude, people can have their opinions but it is better to ponder on who posts such things and the motive behind them in an age where issues get dramatised and politicised easily.
