Divya Pahuja, a resident of Gurugram’s Baldev Nagar, was involved in a crime at the age of 18 when she was arrested by the Mumbai police on July 14, 2016. Accused of playing a crucial role in the alleged fake encounter of her then-boyfriend, gangster Sandeep Gadoli, Pahuja became a central figure in a complex narrative of betrayal and criminal intrigue.
According to police reports, Pahuja was allegedly used as a “honey trap” to lure Gadoli into a Mumbai hotel near Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. It was there that he met his tragic end in a staged encounter with the police. The authorities claimed that Pahuja, along with her mother Sonia, shared critical information about Gadoli’s whereabouts with his rival Virendra Kumar, also known as Binder Gujjar, and the Haryana police. This information ultimately led to Gadoli’s killing on February 6, 2016, as reported by Hindustan Times.
Pahuja, in a plea filed in January 2023, expressed her willingness to take the blame for informing the police about Gadoli, citing threats to her family’s safety. However, she later retracted the plea, citing the influence of her mental state and the pressure she felt. Her struggles continued, facing denial of bail pleas five times until the Bombay High Court finally granted her release in June 2023, considering her six years of prior imprisonment and the anticipated lengthy trial process.
This took a darker turn on Tuesday night when Divya Pahuja was taken to a hotel in Gurugram by five individuals and shot in the head. Three of the arrested aides, identified as Abhijeet Singh, Omprakash, and Hemraj, are now in custody, as reported by Times Now.
Pahuja’s sister Naina, alarmed by the inability to contact her, approached the police, leading to the discovery of bloodstains on the hotel stairs. CCTV footage revealed two men dragging a covered body down a corridor and loading it into a blue BMW. The police suspect that Singh paid the two men ₹10 lakh to dispose of the body in an unrecoverable location, which Singh claims is in the Punjab and Haryana border region.
During the initial interrogation, Singh admitted to shooting Pahuja out of rage, stating that she demanded money despite collecting a substantial amount. Singh’s attempt to delete compromising pictures from her phone allegedly led to a heated argument, culminating in the tragic incident at Hotel City Point.
