On the night of January 7 and 8, Suchana Seth committed the heinous act at a service apartment hotel in North Goa’s Candolim. The young boy was smothered with a pillow, leading to his tragic death. The accused, after the dreadful act, concealed the lifeless body in a bag and arranged for a taxi to transport them back to Bengaluru.
The Goa Police apprehended Suchana Seth in Karnataka after the hotel staff reported bloodstains on towels in her room which led to the investigation. After which doctors at Hiriyur Hospital in Karnataka conducted a preliminary examination, revealing that the cause of the child’s death was suffocation. Suchana Seth’s strained relationship with her husband played a pivotal role in this case. Amid ongoing divorce proceedings since 2022, the couple was entangled in a bitter custody battle. Recent court orders granting the father visitation rights seemingly fueled the accused’s distress, which led to this tragedy.
Police sources suggest that the court order permitting the husband to meet their son every Sunday may have been the catalyst. The accused, purportedly dissatisfied with this decision, allegedly plotted to thwart the scheduled meeting by taking her son’s life a day prior.

Following the horrific act, Suchana Seth reportedly attempted suicide by cutting her left wrist with a sharp object. Police officials revealed that bloodstains found in the apartment were a result of her self-inflicted injuries.
When questioned by the police about the bloodstains in her hotel room, Seth initially claimed it was due to her menstrual cycle, offering to cover cleaning expenses. During questioning, she maintained her innocence, insisting that she did not intentionally harm her son.
