A Delhi Based dollmaker named Silaiwali, a social enterprise has collaborated with a French Luxury fashion house, Chloe. Silaiwali employs Afghan refugees and makes dolls from waste material.
The collaboration has already put out a couple of their products. Chloe and Silaiwali have together made limited edition bags and decorative dolls. The dolls are dressed in Chloe Knit Dresses.
The dolls, which are available for pre-order on the official website of the French brand, are priced at over Rs. 16,000 (decorative dolls). The bag charms range from Rs.9,000 to Rs. 11,000.
Silaiwali is famous for its products and the cause they have associated its products with. Their dolls are sold in over 100 stores across the world. Their products are also available in lifestyle stores such as Jaipur Modern, Paper Boat, and Vayu.
Silaiwali promotes the sustainable creation of lifestyle products and aims to help the marginalised craftspeople with the same. Besides dolls, the brand is also famous for making handmade objects and other home products.
