The Congress attempts to win the South Bangalore seat for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 by fielding a Popular Candidate against the popular politician Tejasvi Surya.

The Congress Plans to field their popular leader, Soumya Reddy who was also their candidate for the 2023 State Legislative Assembly polls. She lost the election by just a margin of 16 votes, there were allegations of a “namesake’ Candidate in the previous elections made by Congress. The “namesake” candidate named “Soumya A Reddy” allegedly was fielded by BJP to confuse the voters. The Candidate however denied all allegations.
Sowmya Reddy is an Indian politician who is the current General Secretary of All India Mahila Congress of Karnataka and a member of the Indian National Congress. She was elected as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Karnataka from Jayanagar in 2018 before losing to C. K. Ramamurthy of the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2023. Sowmya Reddy is the daughter of Karnataka transport minister Ramalinga Reddy.
She is an environmentalist, who has campaigned against the use of plastic as well as promoted the planting of trees to increase greenery in Bengaluru. 35-year-old Sowmya is a well-known animal rights and green activist, ushering her followers to choose a green and positive lifestyle concerning diet and environment. Sowmya is the Founder of Paradigm Shift, a vegan restaurant, and an activist center in Whitefield, Bengaluru. It is a forum for public opinion and discussions in the true spirit of democracy.
This could be a good Strategy against the very popular BJP politician Tejasvi Surya who will most likely be running in the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections for the South Bangalore seat.
