A case has been registered against a city-based advocate for harassing a group of women riders on NICE Road in Bengaluru.
Returning from a ride, the group of women riders stopped on a roadside to drink some water. As they were going about their business, an elderly man started shouting at them. Before they could come to terms with what was happening, his son approached them and accused the riders of stopping on private property. The row became heated when the women argued that it was a road and not private property.
A video of the incident is making rounds on social media. It shows that the man took the ignition key from the bikes and misbehaved with the riders.
Following the incident, the bikers approached the Konanakunte Police Station and filed a police case against the man. Police reports suggest that the accused will be summoned soon for questioning.
The video has received several reactions from social media. Many users have come out with their stories of facing harassment.

The video shows the women bikers stopping their vehicles on the main road, on the other side of the accused’s gate. The women are seen arguing with the who persistently kept asking them to move, which led to the escalation of matters.
NICE Road is a private expressway and there are no homes on either side. The advocate’s license must be revoked for harassing a women biker.

After the incident, the women riders made a video in which they stated that they waited on the road for almost an hour. They also pointed out that the attitude of people is what keeps women away from riding bikes or similar activities.
Reacting to the video, several bikers are issuing statements to their colleagues to stand in the same place to drink water.
What a sore loser! Definitely stopping here next time I go this way!
