The former Chef Minister BS Yeddyurappa on Thursday night was Booked under the POCSO Act 2012 for allegedly Sexually Assaulting a 17-year-old Minor Girl. The case was booked in Shadashivanagar Police Station after a woman filed a complaint stating that Yediyurappa sexually assaulted her daughter.

According to the complaint, the incident took place on February 2 morning when she took her minor daughter to Yediyurappa’s house. The woman stated that she wanted to seek Yediyurappa’s help in connection to the rape case, where her minor daughter was the victim.
“I sought formation of special investigation team to investigate into the matter. After hearing us, Yediyurappa took her to a room and locked inside. Little later, he opened the door and my daughter came running, saying Yediyurappa sexually assaulted her,” the woman’s complaint read. When she questioned, Yediyurappa replied saying “I was just checking whether she was raped or not,” the woman’s complaint copy read adding “Yediyurappa stopped us from sharing the ordeal faced by my daughter. Initially, I was feared to file a complaint against him. But now, I have decided to file complaint and seek legal action against him,” the woman told the cops.
Notably, the woman has so far filed 53 different cases against personalities.
Meanwhile, BS Yediyurappa on Friday morning told media that the woman had come to him sometime back, seeking police help in some matter. “After hearing to her, I personally called city police commissioner, directed him to legally assist her. From then, the woman started talking against me for unknown reasons. The city police commissioner is aware of all these issues,” he said.
“Around one or 1.5 months ago, they (victim and her mother) had come to my house seeking help and then I took them inside my home. After listening to her, I called city police commissioner B Dayananda over phone seeking to address her problem. Later, they spoke against me and then I suspected there is some health problem with her. I sent them to city police commissioner’s office. I even gave her some money as they were facing problem. I came to know that FIR has been registered and will look into it. But this is what I have faced for helping someone,” former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa said in response to the sexual harassment case.
Asked whether there was any political motive behind the act, Yediyurappa said he didn’t see any such motives.
Meanwhile, Home Minister G Parameshwara said that they are probing the case from all angles. “The woman has accused Yediyurappa of sexually assaulting her minor daughter. The suspect in this case is a former chief minister and veteran politician. We will take all matters into consideration during the investigation. There are some talks on the psychological status of the woman, which is also under consideration,” he said.
