In Bangalore, a baffling theft has caught the city’s attention. While thieves typically go after valuables like money and jewelry, this recent case is unusual as the culprits targeted something unexpected.
The audacious theft took place just a stone’s throw away from the Bangalore City Police Commissioner’s office. The stolen item was a BMTC passenger shelter located on Cunningham Road. Astonishingly, this newly constructed bus stop vanished within a week of its completion.
The bus stop, built by a private company at a cost of Rs 10 lakh, was made of steel and meant to serve BMTC passengers on Cunningham Road. Its mysterious disappearance raised eyebrows and prompted inquiries.
Ravi Reddy, Assistant Vice President of the private company responsible for constructing the bus stop, expressed his shock and frustration. When company representatives arrived to assess the bus stop’s usage by the public, they were stunned to find it missing.
Baffled by the situation, Ravi Reddy contacted BBMP (Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike) officials for an explanation. To their surprise, BBMP officials denied any involvement in the removal of the bus stop. Faced with this perplexing scenario, the company promptly filed a complaint at Highgrounds Police Station on September 30.
In response to the complaint, the police took swift action. They initiated an investigation to apprehend the culprits responsible for the bus stop’s disappearance. Surveillance footage from nearby CCTV cameras was reviewed as part of the ongoing inquiry.
The theft of a bus stop, an unusual and daring crime, has left both authorities and the public bewildered. It remains to be seen whether the police will be able to solve this peculiar case and recover the stolen BMTC passenger shelter. The incident serves as a stark reminder that thieves can target even the most unexpected objects, highlighting the need for increased vigilance and security measures in the city.
