The American multinational corporation, Boeing, is all set to launch its second-largest facility after the US within the Aerospace Park in Devanahalli, near Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. This move occurred shortly after the company announced its plan to open a second campus outside of Virginia in January this year. This complex will be constructed with an investment of 1600 crores, in a land of 43 acres. Additionally, the company, Boeing India, is aiming to increase its annual sourcing from the current Rs 8000 crore to Rs 10,000 crore, in India.
With its close proximity to the Kempegowda International Airport and the upcoming Blue metro line (KR Pura – Yelahanka – KIA), Devanahalli is a smart and strategic location for the plane maker company to establish its largest facility in India. This led to an increase in job opportunities and demand for housing in the area.
Boeing’s India operations have their headquarters in Delhi and Boeing India Engineering & Technology Center (BIETC) in Bengaluru and Chennai. The Company has several field service offices in Mumbai, Hindan, Raajali, and New Delhi. Subsequently, the MNC Corporation announced that it was going to invest $100 million in infrastructure and pilot training programs in India after signing a deal with Air India for over 200 aircraft, including 20 787 Dreamliners, 10 777Xs, and 190 737 MAX narrowbody aircraft.
The 43-acre complex will be housing various labs, testing infrastructure, and part of R&D operations.
