The South Western Railway deserves praise for finding a solution for airline passengers for whom getting to Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) is a real hassle due to the road’s potholes, distance, and extreme traffic.
From Friday, July 29, flight travellers can get to Bengaluru’s Kempegowda airport for less than 35 rupees.
The South Western Railway tweeted about the new trains, saying that “In order to provide additional connectivity to Kempegowda International Airport, #Bengaluru additional MEMU U/R Express Special services are introduced……”.

There will be six days a week of operation (Monday to Saturday). On Sunday, there won’t be any trains running. The trains will run from 3:15 in the morning until 9:41 in the evening. They will all come to a stop at the halt station, which is located around 3.5 kilometres from the airport.
The halt station was established by Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL). Between the halt station and the airport terminal, the BIAL also provides a free shuttle service.
