The electoral landscape may witness Shivram Hebbar vying for the Karwar Lok Sabha constituency, while ST Somasekhar eyes the Mysore-Kodagu Lok Sabha seat. These potential candidacies underscore the strategic planning involved in this political realignment. The Congress seems to be strategically positioning these leaders in key constituencies, emphasizing a calculated approach to the impending Lok Sabha elections.

According to reliable sources, the duo contemplating the exit from the BJP has received assurances of significant roles in the government. While Somashekhar is expected to secure a high post akin to the Administrative Reforms Commission, Hebbar is poised to lead an infrastructure development task force. These promises indicate a tactical move by the Congress to attract experienced leaders and capitalize on their skills for governance and development.

In the process of their political transition, both leaders have engaged in discussions with the Congress high command. Notably, ST Somashekhar met with Parameshwar, a key figure in the Congress, to deliberate on their entry into the party. The historical connection between Parameshwar and the leaders, dating back to their association during Parameshwar’s tenure as the president of KPCC, adds a personal touch to this political realignment.

Addressing reporters after a meeting with Home Minister Parameshwar, ST Somashekhar emphasized that the discussions were centered around non-political matters. He highlighted the need for a new police station in the Magadi Road constituency and the division of Andhrahalli into Badarahalli. This underscores the leaders’ commitment to addressing the developmental needs of their constituencies, irrespective of the party they align with.
