This comes at a time when a countrywide shutdown call has been given by some groups on Monday. Over 10 states in India have seen protests over the last three days against the proposed recruitment scheme.
While Indian Army aspirants have taken to the streets to protest against the scheme over the uncertainty of their future, the Government of India gave concessions to the Agniveers like the reservation for jobs in paramilitary forces and other sectors.

While the government points out that the ‘Agnipath’ scheme gives a golden opportunity to the youth to join the defense system and serve the country, protestors think that it strips them of pension benefits as well as their very dream of joining the army and serving their nation.
Mr Mahindra is very generous
Instead of giving opportunity to Agniveer ,he should give such great opportunity to sons of netas and make them great again
Agniveer with such high salary offered by Mahindra wont be able to spend that in their life time

As the protests continue, a senior Army officer on Sunday clarified that the scheme will not be rolled back and said that it is the “only progressive step to make the country young”.
Meanwhile, the registration process for the first batch of Agniveers under the Centre’s Agnipath recruitment scheme will begin on June 24 and the online examination would be held on July 24.
