Ajay Devgn has given the Hindi Film Industry a much-needed clean hit in the form of Drishyam 2. The movie grossed over 60 crores in the first weekend, and the movie is trending well even on the weekdays.

Riding high on the success, Ajay Devgn released the teaser of his next directorial venture, Bholaa. The movie is a Hindi remake of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Kaithi. The teaser of the movie has got divided opinions among the fans.
While many fans are cashing on the successful remakes that Ajay Devgn has been a part of, namely the Drishyam Series and the Singham Series, others are sceptical of the movie.
The teaser of Bholaa shows that the movie will follow that same storyline, however, the only noticeable difference is the over-the-top capability of the main lead in the remake. In the original, Karthi, the titular character of the movie turned out to be a hero due to his circumstances, whereas in Ajay Devgn’s character in Bholaa seems to be a hero, from the get-go, an observation that hasn’t gone down too well with a few fans.

Lokesh Kanagraj, who is a hot property in the Indian film circuit at the moment made Kaithi in 2019, it was his second movie. The movie was received well for its portrayal of a prisoner, who finds himself in the middle of a much bigger crime web. The linear and simplistic screenplay did not deter the story from getting through as it was backed by some commendable performances from Karthi and Narain.
Lokesh Kanagraj’s last film was an industry hit for Tamil cinema. Vikram, the comeback movie of Kamal Haasan, is a part of the same cinematic universe as Kaithi. Fans of the Lo-Ki Universe are apprehensive about the remake of a one-off from the universe.
Ajay Devgn, the director, had earlier delivered Runway 34, which was praised by the critics. With Bholaa, he aims to bring out the ‘massy’ side from his directorial repertoire. Besides Ajay Devgn, the movie also stars Tabu.
