Bengaluru, the vibrant tech hub of India, is set to make history by hosting the 5th World Coffee Conference (WCC), an event of immense economic significance that spotlights the global coffee industry.
For the very first time, India, particularly Bengaluru, will be the stage for this global coffee extravaganza. Organized by the International Coffee Organization (ICO) in collaboration with the Coffee Board of India, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Karnataka Government, and various stakeholders in the coffee industry, this four-day event is scheduled to take place from September 25 to 28 at the iconic Bangalore Palace.
The conference promises to bring together a diverse array of participants, including industry leaders, experts, exporters, traders, coffee chain proprietors, coffee growers, roasters, enthusiasts, and students, under one roof. Inaugurated by the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, the conference anticipates attendees from more than 80 countries, comprising 2,400 delegates, 117 speakers, 208 exhibitors, 10,000 visitors, and the prospect of over 300 B2B meetings.
The central mission of the 5th World Coffee Conference is to carve out pathways that benefit the pivotal figures in coffee production – the coffee farmers themselves. The event’s overarching theme revolves around the concept of ‘Sustainability Through Circular Economy and Regenerative Agriculture.’ Beyond this, the conference seeks to foster goodwill and promote trade relationships among coffee-producing and coffee-consuming nations.
The conference itinerary is packed with engaging activities that span panel discussions, workshops, competitions, coffee tastings, and a bustling exhibition space, showcasing an array of unique coffee products and services. For entrepreneurs, retailers, and coffee business proprietors, these networking opportunities will open doors for expansion. Simultaneously, the event offers valuable prospects for individuals looking to deepen their coffee knowledge.
One of the standout features of the conference is the Coffee Museum, set to be housed within a captivating dome-shaped structure. This museum will serve as a visual journey through India’s coffee plantations and will vividly illustrate the life cycle of a coffee bean – from its origin in the plantation to the final cup of aromatic brew. It promises to be an immersive experience, allowing attendees to connect with coffee’s rich history and cultural significance in India.
