The Indian film industry has been struggling in recent years, with many production companies incurring staggering losses due to the pandemic. However, there is hope on the horizon as the industry returns to form with the release of Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan.
As excitement builds for what’s to come, one upcoming Hindi film in particular has caught the attention of fans. Ayan Mukherjee, who made his comeback as a director with the hit film Brahmastra after a hiatus of over 9 years, will be collaborating with Hrithik Roshan for the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, the first War film was the most successful Hindi film of 2019, grossing over 320 crores at the domestic box office. The sequel, which will reportedly be a part of the YRF Spy-verse alongside Pathaan and Tiger, is set to see Mukherjee enter the action genre for the first time.
In addition to his collaboration with Yash Raj Films, Mukherjee will also be continuing his Brahmastra trilogy with the release of Brahmastra 2 and Brahmastra 3 in 2026 and 2027 respectively.
While Brahmastra received mixed reviews from both critics and audiences, Mukherjee’s reputation as a director is strong, and fans are eagerly anticipating his upcoming projects.
As the Indian film industry continues to recover from the pandemic, the collaboration between Mukherjee and Roshan is just one example of the fresh collaborations and exciting developments on the horizon.
