Avatar: The Way of Water, is a sequel to the Avatar film, which was released in 2009. James Cameron, the director of epic-science fiction has worked to create the Avatar universe with all his might by spending thousands of crores on the budget.
The film is reported to have cost Disney $350 million, according to Variety. There are a number of reasons why it cost so much money and took so much time to make the second Avatar movie. The beauty of the film was made possible by the “advanced motion-capture technology that Cameron used to reproduce every fluid movement and facial tic of his actors playing Na’vi characters”.
A video is going viral on Twitter that reveals that a particular short clip from Avatar 2 has cost a whopping $ 100,000. The tweet reads, “A VFX artist estimated that this shot from #AvatarTheWayOfWater cost 100,000 dollars since every pixel in it is CG and the realism is pushed to the max.”
Despite such a big price tag, it’s still not the most expensive movie ever made; that title belongs to Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, which cost $379 million. Second place goes to Avengers: Age of Ultron, which rang in at $365 million, and third belongs to Avengers: Endgame, costing $356 million.
