AR Rahman’s recent concert in Chennai, which happened on September 10, has faced strong disapproval from his fans because of its poorly organized management. Those who were present at the music maestro’s performance shared their unusual encounters and video clips on the social media platform Twitter, expressing their disappointment.
Numerous people who attended the concert turned to social media to share their unhappiness, pointing out a range of problems. They were upset about the sound being too quiet, which meant that people who were far from the stage could hardly hear the performance. The event also suffered from too many people being packed in, causing panic attacks and anxiety among those present. Some passionate fans even pledged to never go to another AR Rahman concert again due to these distressing experiences.
There were also reports of people who had tickets not being allowed inside the venue, and some fans were so upset that they ripped their tickets into pieces. The concert caused a huge traffic jam, and fans were unhappy because they felt like too many tickets were sold, making the venue overcrowded. A film trade analyst named Manobala Vijayabalan even shared a video of a disappointed fan tearing up their concert tickets, calling it an “unforgettable event” and the “worst gift” from AR Rahman.
The discontent among concertgoers was widespread, causing the hashtag #ARRConcert to go viral on social media. This hashtag became a platform for people to voice their grievances about the event. Fans also recounted incidents of conflicts and chaos that marred the concert experience. One fan, in particular, didn’t mince words when criticizing the concert’s organization. She described it as being “extremely poorly coordinated” and deemed it a misuse of both money and energy. Additionally, she expressed feeling considerable stress due to the disturbances, fights, and the subpar sound quality that marred the event.

A Gold ticket holder attending the concert expressed their deep disappointment, sharing that despite having purchased premium seats, they couldn’t actually “enjoy the show” because of severe overcrowding and a noticeable lack of space. This led them to believe that the event organizers had oversold the tickets. As a result, they demanded a refund for their ticket purchase.
