At a function, Prakash Raj stated that his dream was to have one ambulance in every district to serve the poor for free. He aims to provide one ambulance to each district in Karnataka. Moreover, he said that he will not hesitate to raise funds for the same.
He stated that his well-wishers and friends had recommended he donate an ambulance to Mission Hospital in Mysuru. Mission Hospital is a philanthropic hospital which has been serving the poor for nearly a century.
During the event, Prakash Raj said, “When Appu (Puneeth Rajkumar) died in October last year, I thought an immediate ambulance might have saved him and hence I decided to pay tribute to him by donating an ambulance and naming it after him. He had not just been a fantastic actor, but also a great human being. He was always in the forefront when it comes to the social service, hence we are only taking forward his legacy in the state.”
Prakash Raj further stated that he will soon be setting up a blood bank on the hospital premises to serve the poor and help them to get the required blood.
This is not the first time that Appu (Puneeth Rajkumar) has been honoured. Earlier, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) had announced that a 12-km road near Bannerghatta Road would be named after him. The road is named Sri Puneeth Rajkumar Road.
