Shiv Thakare was born in a Marathi-speaking family in Amravati, Maharashtra. He comes from a humble background as his father used to work in a pan shop. As a kid, Shiv has himself worked there to help his father.

Owing to the financial condition of the family, Shiv Thakare would also sell newspapers and milk packets as a child. The 33-year-old became a household name, at least in Maharashtra after winning the Bigg Boss Marathi 2, and The Anti Social Network in 2019. The actor also participated in MTV Roadies Rising in 2017.

During his stint in Bigg Boss Marathi, the actor got into a relationship with Veena Jagtap, however, the duo soon broke up after the show. The couple appeared in a music video titled ‘Kasa Chandra’ in 2020.
