Akash Ambani, the son of billionaire Mukesh Ambani and CEO of Jio, India’s largest telecom firm, has broken yet another record by being the only Indian who made it to the Time’s 100 emerging leaders list.
He is also keeping the family tradition of breaking into lists by becoming the only Indian to enter the Time Next 100 list. The list puts the spotlight on emerging leaders who are shaping the world of business, sports, finance, entertainment, politics & more.#TIME100NEXT pic.twitter.com/QzCrbY3g95

In their areas of specialization, entertainment, sports, politics, health, science, and activism—the 100 emerging leaders on the TIME100 list are now reshaping the global landscape.
Ambani was notably the only person from India to be featured.
Indian-born American CEO of OnlyFans, Amrapali Gan, also made it to the list.
In addition to calling him “the scion of Indian industrialist royalty,” Time noted that Akash Ambani “was always expected to rise in business.”
For the uninitiated, Akash and Isha Ambani’s role in the company’s expansion into technology and retail has been extremely important.
They engaged in negotiations with Facebook parent Meta Platforms Inc. to secure a $5.7 billion investment in Jio Platforms Ltd., which will act as the foundation for Ambani’s e-commerce ambitions.
In a recent annual general meeting, Mukesh Ambani disclosed that his three heirs are “part of a young team of leaders and professionals who are already doing amazing things at Reliance, of course, all of them are being mentored on a daily basis by our senior leaders, including myself and the board of directors.”
Earlier this year, the CEO of Reliance nominated his son Akash Ambani as chairman of Reliance Jio and began the succession planning process.
