Koramangala police in Bengaluru arrested four people for allegedly gang-raping a woman in a moving car. Sathish, Vijay, Sridhar, and Kiran, age between 22 and 26 were arrested by the police after the incident.
According to reports, the woman was sitting in a park with her friend when she was dragged by four people and gang raped. The police arrested the accused based on a complaint made by the woman. According to the police, the accused raped the victim by moving to different parts of the city, namely Domlur, Indiranagar, Anekar, and Nice Road.
The police also stated that one of the accused, who was staying near the park, found the woman and her male friend smoking. He reportedly questioned and cornered them. The couple got into an argument with the accused, telling him to mind his own business.
“The incident took place on March 25 at around 10 pm. The victim and her friend were sitting in the National Games Village park where government quarters are located. At this time, for youth who came there threatened her friend, then dragged the victim and raped her in a moving car. Later on March 26 at around 4 am, they left the victim near her house and fled,” the police said.
The victim later made it to the police station along with her mother and her friends to the nearby hospital, and later filed a complaint at Koramangala police station.
We formed two special teams soon after the victim filed a complaint and nabbed all four accused within nine hours. The test identification period of the accused person and other procedures are pending, so we cannot reveal more details about the accused persons.” said CK Baba, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East).
